Career

He began his stage career as a variety performer in the early ’50s. He became a member of The Variety Trio in 1951 and became friends with Nick DeVito, also known as Tommy DeVito, and Nick Maciocci, who became known as Nick Massi. He maintained contact with his friends until The Variety Trio disbanded in late 1952.

Frankie Valli was lead singer of the group The Four Seasons, which was created in 1960 by Tommy DeVito, Nick Massi, and Bob Gaudio. The group’s debut album, Sherry & 11 Others, was released in 1962. Sherry, the album’s lead single, was followed by Big Girls Don t Cry,  Walk Like a Man,  Candy Girl, and Ain t That a Shame. The record turned out to be a success.

They were invited in 1962 to appear on the show American Bandstand, and their hit Big Girls Don’t Cry was in the 1960s. The following year, they released The 4 Seasons Greetings, a Christmas CD with an original interpretation of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, along with other holiday-themed songs. The Four Seasons recorded songs as The Wonder Who? Valli often muffled his falsetto vocals in the recordings they made between 1965 and 1967. The Four Seasons 1975 album Who Loves You was a major success, with the title track hitting the top three of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Another single from the album, December 1963 (Oh, What a Night), spent six months on the charts and became the Four Seasons’ all-time best-selling track. Despite their fame as a touring band, all three canceled their albums amid the 1980s beyond.

The love affair began with an edition of the 60s in October 2007, an October 2017 album of Valli’s favorite 1960s songs that included Sunny and Any Day Now, that he had recorded beforehand. In the same year that Valli released his first solo album in almost twenty-seven years, Heaven Above Me was released. Valli made his musical theater debut in October 2012, with a week-long engagement at the Broadway Theatre. From March 2016 to January 2017, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons the U.S, performing at small-to-medium-sized venues such as the Silver Legacy Casino in Reno, Nevada, the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, and the County Fair in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.

The filmography of Valli includes appearances in Miami Vice, Full House, Witness to the Mob, The Sopranos, and the 2014 film And So It Goes. Valli brought to life mystery attorney Leonard Cassano in the November 21, 2014 episode of Hawaii Five-0 called Ka Hana Malu (Inside Job).
