Verne Troyer is an American actor, stunt performer, and comedian. He is most notable for his height of only 2 feet 8 inches (81 cm), owing to his dwarfism, making him one of the shortest men in the world. He is best known for his role as Mini-Me in Austin Powers films.
Troyer was born in Sturgis, Michigan, to the marriage of Susan, a factory employee, and Reuben Troyer, a repairman. He has two brothers, Davon and Deborah. During his youth years, Troyer enjoyed spending his summers in Centreville, Michigan, visiting relatives of the Amish community. Troyer graduated from Centreville High School in 1987.
Troyer was at first raised Amish, but his parents left the faith when he was a child. He has stated that his parents “never treated me any differently from my other standard-sized siblings. I used to have to haul wood, supply the cows and pigs, and assist in the farming”.

In 1994, Verne Troyer was on the set of the movie Baby’s Day Out. In 1997, he went on to appear in Dunston Checks In. This was followed by appearing on Pinocchio’s Revenge in the ’90s. In the 1990s, he was seen in films like Men in Black, My Giant, Mighty Joe Young, Volcano, RocketMan, Instinct, and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
He was Harvey (Dr. Phreak) in the 2001 film Bubble Boy. The same year, he played the part of Harry Potter’s mischievous friend Ron Weasley in the TV miniseries Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Then he played the role of Mini-Me in Goldmember.
In 2008, Troyer appeared in the film The Love Guru; his many other film roles include Keith Lemon: The Film and Gnome Alone. In television, he performed stunts on Masked Rider in 1995. In 1999, he was seen in Shasta McNasty. This was followed by his performing as Napoleon Bonaparte in the television show Jack of All Trades.
