Sophie Hawley-Weld is a German-born American singer-songwriter, performer and member of the electronic music duo Sofi Tukker. She performs alongside Tucker Halpern, and the duo is associated with songs including “Drinkee” and “Best Friend.” Round Hill Music identifies Hawley-Weld and Halpern as the two members of Sofi Tukker.
Who is Sophie Hawley-Weld?
Hawley-Weld was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and grew up in international communities. The available biographical material describes her as a singer-songwriter, composer, record producer, DJ, actress and director. IMDb lists her birth date as 17 May 1992 and her birthplace as Germany.
Her background spans music, performance and production. The source biography says she attended an international high school in Italy before studying at Brown University. It also says she was interested in sociology and culture-specific music during college and performed while at the university. These experiences form part of the account of how she met Tucker Halpern and began collaborating with him.
Sofi Tukker and her music career
Sofi Tukker consists of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern. According to the source biography, Halpern saw Hawley-Weld perform at a university event, approached her afterward and later worked with her to form the duo. The account presents their partnership as a gradual creative development rather than an immediate commercial breakthrough.
The duo released the EP Soft Animals in 2016. Songs named in the source include “Drinkee,” “Best Friend,” “Batshit,” “Everybody Needs a Kiss” and “Jhony.” The source also connects “Best Friend” with an Apple commercial for the iPhone X and “Jhony” with EA Sports’ FIFA 17. These placements helped expose the duo’s music to audiences beyond its existing listeners.
Hawley-Weld’s work is commonly placed within electronic dance music and house-influenced pop. Her role is not limited to vocals: the cited biographical listing also describes her as a songwriter, composer, producer and DJ. That combination helps explain why a short description such as “pop singer” captures only part of her professional identity.
Sophie Hawley-Weld’s age and birthday
IMDb reports that Sophie Hawley-Weld was born on 17 May 1992. The older source profile described her as 30 years old as of 2022. Because age changes over time, her birth date is the more durable reference point.
Education and early interests
The source biography says Hawley-Weld completed high school at an international school in Italy and later graduated from Brown University. While at university, she reportedly explored sociology and culture-specific music as well as singing. The same account places a university performance at the beginning of her musical partnership with Halpern.
Those details provide useful context for her career, but they do not establish every part of her childhood or educational history. The supplied material does not name her field of graduation, provide attendance dates or identify the high school more precisely than an international school in Italy.
Height, weight and appearance
The source profile lists Hawley-Weld’s height as 5 feet 9 inches and 179.8 centimetres. It lists her weight as 59 kilograms and 130 pounds, with dark brown hair and blue eyes. These are reported profile measurements rather than independently verified or necessarily current figures.
Relationship information
The source biography names Richie Crowley as Hawley-Weld’s boyfriend and describes the pair as being in a relationship when that profile was written. It does not provide a confirmed start date. Because the supplied evidence does not establish their present relationship status, that older description should not be treated as a current confirmation.
What is Sophie Hawley-Weld’s net worth?
A dependable net-worth figure is not established by the available evidence. The source profile publishes an estimate and attributes her income generally to music, shows and concerts, but it provides no financial records, valuation method or independently corroborating source. Treat that estimate as unverified rather than as a confirmed statement of Hawley-Weld’s finances.
